Bot filtering
How 404Guard separates shoppers from scanners without deleting bot hits.
Broken URLs attract scanners. 404Guard classifies each visit as human, known bot, suspected bot, or unknown, using the request's bot signals, obvious automated user agents, burst patterns, and well-known probe paths such as /wp-admin or /.env.
Default view
Settings includes Hide obvious bot traffic, on by default. Overview counts and the 404 list then prefer human visits. Scanner paths remain stored with a scanner flag so they can be hidden without being deleted.
Turn the setting off when you want probe traffic in the numbers. The classification is deliberately simple. A determined bot can still look like a browser, and a privacy tool can look like a bot. Use the filter to keep the list actionable, not as a security product.
