404Guard does not email you for every 404. Settings has three separate controls.
Weekly summary
One email a week listing broken URLs that need attention, with visit counts. It is not sent more than once every 7 days.
High-traffic alerts
One email when a broken URL reaches the human visit count you pick: 10, 25, 50, or 100. The default is 25. Further hits do not send another email for that same threshold.
Spike alerts
One email when human visits to a broken URL jump compared with the previous week, at most once per URL per day.
Where mail goes
If Shopify shares a store email, alerts use that address. Otherwise set Alert email in Settings. Until an address exists, 404Guard keeps the report and does not mark it sent. Mail is sent from 404Guard when outbound email is configured for the app. There is no per-hit message.
